VDA 6.1

For car industry suppliers it is usually necessary to extend quality system by the branch requirements. German VDA 6.1 adds other requirements to standards ISO 9000. Prior to VDA 6.1 certification, all ISO 9000 requirements shall be met and that is why an organization cannot be certified separately according to VDA 6.1 only. E.g. supplier is first certified by ISO 9001 and then according to VDA 6.1.

VDA 6.1. will be revised during the second half of the year 2002 in accordance with references to ISO 9001:2000. No other revisions are planned and VDA 6.1 will be gradually terminated and substituted by ISO TS 16949.

Certification according to VDA 6.1 (tool production) and VDA 6.2 (services) will be still in use and these guidelines will be revised during the second half of the year 2002.

System implementation methodology conforms to quality system implementation method according to ISO 9001:2000.
